How is the QubesOS firewall implemented?

The Whonix gateway doesn’t (didnt?) provide the capability to enforce firewall rules. One reason why I don’t use Whonix. If you adopt the proposed solution of putting in an extra firewallVM, you should be aware that traffic will then arrive at the WhonixGW after NAT, so traffic from all connected qubes will arrive at the GW showing the same originating IP - this will impact how Tor circuits are built and used, and is almost certainly not what you want.

KDE - changing the way you use Qubes

The absence of the Network Manager icon is a long standing issue - I’ve tried to get some KDE developers onboard, but as yet with no success. After a while, you just know where the icon should be from its absence. (There are horrible hacks to make the icon appear - I think that the screenshots I posted showed this: I don’t use them.) I don’t use Whonix . I doubt that it’s intended that you use the gw for anything, not already configured. But these sound like Whonix issues,best raised over at the Whonix forums.
