What about a more casual qubes?

Yeah… no… That is quite bad actually. I am quickly losing interest in ChromeOS now

That’s actually like a encryption front door lol. I guess it’s fine for someone who just uses Google Drive and YouTube, but I don’t think I want to store my E2EE messaging app and PGP key on it.

Good that you mentioned it though! Saved me a few hundred dollars on a new Chromebook.

Many users suggest to virtualizer as KVM for casual version of Qubes os, but user has bhyve as other option.
Bhyve runs on FreeBSD and illumos, user can make to like Qubes os based FreeBSD or illumos.

If user needs to security and privacy on Linux, user can choose to Qubes os or KVM.
If user is hate to systemd, or don’t need to use Linux, bhyve is third option!

How is it false? Are you gonna trust a random firmware build cuz its open source? Audit the source but not the actual binary?

How’s the host-guest integration with bhyve though?

SmartOS is illumos distribution, designing as hypervisor os.
SmartOS has multiple separate mechanism, Zone and bhyve.
Vms run on bhyve, bhyve are separate by Zone, SmartOS use VMs separate by two layer.

And SmartOS uses bhyve for virtualization, user can choice difference hypervisor as Xen and KVM.
And SmartOS is developed by Sumsung, so project has continuity!
