I installed wezterm on my gentoo-minimal template, but it runs very slow. Input has a 2 or 3 second delay. Xterm on the gentoo minimal template works fine, as does my web browser; wezterm installed on a debian template runs just fine as well, so it seems to be an issue only with wezterm in the gentoo qube.
Other qubes templates use LLVM for 3D acceleration. To get support for modern terminals, simply emerge media-libs/mesa with the llvm USE flag enabled.
