Some years ago I purchased a Meteor Lake computer exactly in hope to get virtualized iGPU 
Let’s see if the Qubes team will build something with Virtio GPU sharing. As long as this is not the case, ithe module seems to be the only option to have GPU accelelration in Qubes with iGPU.
What makes the difference? Debian templates seem to assign half the qube RAM as VRAM.
Can you somehow set the amount of VRAM in Fedora?
That’s been my experience, too.
I couldn’t find a way to increase the allocation in Debian, so I decided to see how Fedora would perform. Without any additional configuration, it allocates more vRAM.

I can confirm that the memory leak reported by me was not related to the module but to a bug in qubesos gui-agent module. With version 4.3.21 (not released yet) the issue is gone, no memory is leaking any more.
For those skipping this module because of that issue: you can reconsider using it again with the mentioned module version, it works great.
