Utilize qubes-clipboard in scripting?

I wish to be able to let dom0 programs make use of the qubes-clipboard.
Something like qvm-clipboard --copy-from $qube --paste-to $qube

As far as I can tell[1][2], other than using the keyboard shortcuts, there is no other way of using the qubes-clipboard.

I suppose that this code and this doc is where I should be looking for to create my own unofficial-qvm-clipboard application, right?

I also skimmed through the links down below, in order to find out what I am even searching for.
