UTF-8 encoding issue with metric symbols

 Hallo community,

 How can I set up my template VMs with UTF-8 encoding? Or am I wrong and this is not an encoding problem?

Here are two examples.

First examle: If I send a text file named “µ-size” via qvm-open-in-dvm then firefox opens it and shows as result in the URL bar this:

file:///tmp/disp9777-aKJjL2/-size

If I jump to the path “file:///tmp/disp9777-aKJjL2/” and open the file, then this is the result: “lenght: 10 痠” instead of “lenght: 10 µm”

Second example: If I execute ls -la to see the file in the directory then this is the result:
-rw-r--r-- 1 user user 15 May 24 14:08 ''$'\265''-size'

:man_shrugging: :woman_shrugging: What should I configure in my VMs to avoid this situation?

 Thanks in advance for your help.

What happens if you send the file via qvm-copy? Will its name be correct?

Hi @fsflover (fsflover),

this is the result

 -rw-r--r-- 1 user user 6 May 30 16:07 ''$'\265''-size'

If I use in the shell the autocompletion with cat and then the correct name is filled in with the µ symbol. The output of cat shows the correct symbol.

The output of less is:

10 <B5>m
