Using qubes with other OS on different disk

Hi,

I am using qubes os with another os on a separate disk installed. I noticed that this is making the disk appear in dom0, which I don’t want because there is a lot of data there which should not be exposed to dom0. so i looked for a solution to hide it.

the solution was to use libata.force=x.00:disable in grub command line to disable the disk, this works well for me but the problem is it will spam dom0 logs with millions of messages like “ata: link up” and “ata FORCE: modified (disable)”

I don’t like this spam because it makes reading the log hard and wastes disk space, are there any other alternatives to hide other disks from dom0? or can I hide the log message? I looked online with no luck.

I also don’t want to put the disk in a vm, it really would be best to disconnect it but it’s not really a easy solution.

how do other people use multiple os on the same machine with qubes os? just let the other os be available in dom0?
