I wrote nothing about a standalone qube. Simply about assigning the USB controller directly to the Whonix qube.

In that case Qubes OS is not involved with USB anymore and this has nothing to do with the input sender either.

If it doesn’t work when the USB controller is directly attached to Whonix, then it is proof that it’s a Whonix issue and you can describe it as such in the Whonix forums in an answer to @patrick

Well, the same problem persists when the USB device is connected directly to Whonix via the PCI controller - so apparently something is missing or misconfigured in Whonix. Thanks for taking the time to help sort this out. I will post here in the future if I find a solution.
