USB connectivity for Windows Qube

Hello everyone,

I recently created a Windows Qube with Windows 8.1 installed.

What I really needed was the USB connectivity, I followed the procedure through to get near the end only to find a readme file saying that the Qubes Windows Tools is currently unavailable due to security issues.

I am using the latest version of Qubes and all that I am after is the USB connectivity, I am not interesting in all of the other functions, is there some work around for this?

The only reason that I am doing this is so that I can burn MDisc BDXL 100 disks, and the only software that I have found so far is for PC only, Nero (which I am not a fan of) and True Burner.

Conversely if anyone can recommend Linux software suitable for this purpose that would be even better.

Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the stubdom qrexec feature for the Windows qube?

qvm-features <windows qube> stubdom-qrexec 1

Hello DVM, thank you for your reply.

Just tried this and it allowed it to connect, I tested it with a 256 GB USB stick, unfortunately it popped up as a 200 MB blank drive.

This may be because Windows does not recognise the file system on the
stick

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.

Hello unman, yes I agree, I suspect what is showing is probably the boot partition or something similar.

I tested it with the BDXL writer and True Burner seems to be working correctly.

Many thanks.
