Unable to uninstall XTerm, and attempting to do so causes qube to break

Fewer programs means smaller attack surface

With this in mind, I try to uninstall as many programs as possible from my qubes
This is very easy to do on the non-XFCE qubes, as the Software app gives me a nice GUI to work with

I can uninstall most programs from my qubes without issue. However, if I try to uninstall XTerm, I am told that
Error -1 running transaction

When I shut down my qube, when I next try to start it up again, Qubes tells me
Qube my-new-qube failed to start: Cannot connect to qrexec agent for 60 seconds
and I end up deleting the qube

Logs can be supplied once I work out how to get a file from dom0 to another qube (no “Send to other qube” option)

Thanks

It wants to remove over 300 packages when I try this on regular fedora, including a lot of important looking ones.
It could be a bit like sawing off the branch while you are sitting on it!!!

Anyway, if an attacker can use xterm against you, then you probably have much bigger problems than the presence of xterm

Thank you both. Alas that I cannot mark both of your posts as Solutions, as both of you have been helpful
