In the backup page of the docs it says

    1. Warning: Saving the settings will result in your backup passphrase being saved in plaintext in dom0, so consider your threat model before checking this box.

Is this meant to actually be

Also, what does the “Save settings as default backup profile” checkbox do?

Thanks for noticing this. This is outdated text, as in the latest Qubes version we have two independent check boxes for saving the settings and for saving the passphrase. If you can, please try to update the documentation, How to edit the documentation — Qubes OS Documentation.

Yes.

It saves other things like previously chosen target qube and path.
