Trying to do a in-place upgrade to 4.3.rc2 issue

Hello, while trying to upgrade from 4.2.4 to 4.3 I keep getting this error while tying to install the qubes-dist-upgrade . I have read the 4.3 upgrade documentation with no results getting this to work… Any help is appreciated.

$ sudo qubes-dom0-update -y qubes-dist-upgrade  --releasever=4.3 --enablerepo=qubes-dom0-current-testing

It seems that you’ve already updated your dom0 repositories to Qubes OS 4.3.
Did you run qubes-dist-upgrade before to update Qubes OS 4.2 to Qubes OS 4.3 and removed qubes-dist-upgrade after this?
Or did you change repositories manually?

No, I did not run qubes-dist-upgrade I enabled all testing updates in the global config. It downloaded a few updates that was about it.

Then run this command instead:

sudo qubes-dom0-update -y qubes-dist-upgrade  --releasever=4.2 --enablerepo=qubes-dom0-current-testing

That worked… :sunglasses: What was the issue?
Thank you for your help.

Since you’re still on Qubes OS 4.2, then don’t use --releasever=4.3 as stated in the guide:

sudo qubes-dom0-update -y qubes-dist-upgrade
