My trackball that I have on my qubes box started “stuttering” (not sure what the word for it would be) the past day or two, that is when i try to move the cursor it barely moves or moves all the way across the screen, scrolling and clicking seem to still work ok. I tried it on a win box and it worked fine, I also tried a mouse on my qubes box and it worked fine so I am not sure what the issue is. I haven’t done any tinkering lately so the only thing I can think of might be updates? Regardless, I am not sure what else to do to diagnose nor fix the issue so thought I’d ask (pretty please!) for help. I’d be happy to post logs or something, just not sure what/which to post.
Is it USB device?
ok, mem upping didn’t work (tried 1024mb) but it seems that my external USB hub and drives where somehow the culprit? I tried unplugging the drives from the hub and the trackball started working fine as did the mouse. I then tried plugging the drives directly into my computer - still worked fine?
The hub is a usb 3 hub, and this issue seemed to persist irrespective of whether the drives were mounted or devices attached. Also, this just started being an issue - previously I had not had this issue?
You can try to increase the sys-usb memory and VCPUs.
