I was wondering, would it be advantageous in any way to purposely download and install a virus of some sort in a designated qube to monitor, observe, or test how it interacts with the qubes system or to gain any other information?

If you’re going to download a virus and run it for fun then Qubes is the right choice.

No. I do not see how.
There are software systems designed specifically for analyzing viruses. Searching for information on “software forensics” would be a good start. AFAIK QubesOS is not specifically designed for this, but might provide some additional benefits if you know what you are doing. I would not do this on a piece of hardware that is connected to the internet or contains any sensitive information (it does not matter if it is encrypted at time of analysis).
