What key exits GUI and how to get back to normal GUI qubes.
I am not sure what to call it. I have used qubes for more than ten years and this has happened three or four times. I must have pressed a wrong button… one of the F-keys?
Then my screen went black and I had a Dom0 prompt. I could type in the name of my machine and password but I have no clue where I am or what I can do there.
What do I type to get back to the Qubes GUI?
Every time this happens, I have to do a hard boot (power off and reopen everything).
You pressed Ctrl+Alt+FKey (F1, F2, etc.) and you’re in a TTY. Hold Ctrl+Alt and figure out which FKey gets you back to the GUI as I don’t remember. It’s likely F1, F2, or F7 IIRC.
Alt + Ctrl + F2/F3/F4/F5/F6 to go to a text console
Alt + F1 to switch to GUI.

No need to do that. If you are stuck in a text console mode (for whatever reason) and want to reboot, just press Ctrl + Alt + Del. Or you can login with your user and pass to do things in dom0.
