Sudo not work in template whonix

Hello. I have a problem. I don’t have sudo working in the whonix-ws-17 template and in Appvm based on this cube out of the box after installation. How can this be fixed? Or only a reinstallation will help.

Hi,

sudo was disabled in whonix, see Zsh: permission denied: sudo - #2 by Patrick - Support - Whonix Forum

But how do I include this in qubes? I want to install programs, how do I do that? I don’t understand how I can include this in qubes. Is there any simple instruction on what exactly to do? Otherwise I don’t understand from the links.

How do I install programs in this new mode? How do I enable it in StandaloneVM based on Template whonix-ws-17.

You can open a root console for the administrative tasks in the template.
Use one of the options described here to open it. For example, run this command in dom0:

$ qvm-console-dispvm whonix-workstation-17

Is this the only possible way? Is it really correct? Do I understand correctly that at the moment in order to install programs in appvm based on template whonix-ws-17, you need to run the root terminal as you wrote?

The wiki also explain how to restore sudo if you prefer.
