Strange behavior on Debian-based standalonevm after update

One of my qubes seems to have broken after I last updated it with apt upgrade. I’m experiencing two symptoms:

  1. Cannot connect to VPN via network-manager; it fails instantly and seemingly without trying
  2. Cannot apt update. It fails as if there were something wrong with my Internet connection (lots of Ign, Err, and Network unreachable messages) however I can ping/wget/telnet out just fine, even to the same domains that apt claims to be unreachable like deb.debian.org.

I’ve never ran into this kind of issue before. How do I even begin to debug this? I can confirm that the qube was working just fine before I updated.
