Status of video acceleration on Meteor Lake (and possibly newer chipsets)

I think it is worth a separate thread.

Is dom0 accelerated out of the box on 4.3? On 4.2 it is not (and I did not find a way to have it, neither with i915 nor Xe dirver)

What is the status and timeline for virtualGL/iGPU sharing/whatever else exists to get accelerated domU?

Maybe it’s too early for driver in modesetting to drive this cpu. Other user have problem with audio on pci line that can’t be attached to any qube.

Had you checked it on fedora/ubuntu live usb if it is working?

I believe latest Fedora does (did not try myself). It is on the mainstream kernel for quite a while (>1 year)

Maybe, but dom0 is fc37 and MESA in it is fairly old.
Maybe with sys-gui made on fc42 it would start to work?

Could anyone try? Is sys-gui finally stable?

It’s not really good enough for daily usage compared to dom0 IMO

dom0 acceleration does work out of the box for r4.3. Unfortunately, it is an issue where the x11 modesetting driver is too old to support the chipset, so there’s not an easy workaround for r4.2.

Thanks, at least this is reassuring.

Well ok, I migrated to 4.3 – any expectation for further improvements to get some elements of accelration in domU?
