[solved] Admin-domain widgets gone

I’m running Qubes 4.2.3 on newly (re)installed system with sys-gui-gpu. Apart from the usual issues I ran into another problem days that did not appear initially:

Suddenly (maybe after a template update) all my admin-domain widgets (devices, qubes) are gone. The corresponding (widget-)daemons are still running in sys-gui-gpu (although they did have an oom-killer issue at some point), but I’m struggling to find which component shall provide the widgets. I already tried to reinstall qubes-desktop-linux-manager but nothing changed. When I open the panel settings in settings manager, the objects for the widgets don’t exist and they do not appear when I try to manually add one.

The sys-gui-gpu VM is based on the fedora-40-xfce template.

Any hints?

It was as simple as enabling the systray widget in which those qubes widgets apparently reside. (Having said that, I have not actively disabled it in the panel in the first place)
