Second HDD and NAS for backup

I would like to store my backup qubes in a separate HDD (/dev/sda). In which VM I have to mount it and how? In dom0?

Another backup I would like to store in my Synology NAS. How to do that?

In the Qubes Backup tool you can choose the destination for your backup:

You can attach your separate HDD to your qube and mount it inside and then choose this mounted directory as destination for Qubes Backup.
The same way you can mount remote Synology NAS in qube and use it as destination for Qubes Backup.

Maybe my question was not precise enough, I am sorry.

Shall l mount my device in dom0 or shall I create a new qube?
When I try the commant sudo mount /dev/sda mnt in any qube the error appears special device /dev/sda does not exist.

According to https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/how-to-use-block-storage-devices/

I tried also with the GUI tool “Qubes Devices” to mount, but in the Backuptool it couldn’t find the HDD.

The NAS I shall mount with SSH?

When you’ve attached your /dev/sda to your qube with widget in tray as explained here:
How to use block storage devices | Qubes OS
It’ll be available in this qube not as /dev/sda device but as /dev/xvdi* (/dev/xvd**) as explained here:
How to use block storage devices | Qubes OS
You can view all your disks in qube and find the correct one with:
sudo fdisk -l

You can use sshfs to mount remote filesystem over ssh inside qube.

Thanks for your help.

The HDD I included into the system in this way:

https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/secondary-storage/

I created a Backup-VM there. Important that it is running, so the backup-manager recognizes it.

sshfs was a good hint. Thanks

Then you just have to select in Qubes Backup tool destination qube Backup-VM and directory on private storage in Backup-VM for example any directory in /home/user/.
