Recommendations Sought for Installing Qubes on Laptop with Two 4TB NVMe SSDs

Am installing Qubes on certified laptop with two 4TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs (Samsung 990 PROs).

Qubes installer detects both drives but it’s not sure if I should select one or both before proceeding with a default or custom configuration.

Qubes Disk Space Monitor shows shows Total Disk Usage = 50.1%

and Volumes = varlibqubes 9.8GiB/19.5GiB and data 50.1 %

I’d like 2nd SSD to be reserved exclusively for User Data and Backups and 1st SSD to be for booting, OS, and any/all qubes.

You are probably going to need to select both drives with a custom storage configuration. If you have external media, such as a USB drive, you can use that for user data and backups instead.

In my case, a second drive (small) is used for backups

Later, while on local network bakckups are moved off to another storage

And, space is reclaimed by deleting those file on laptop

Make sure that the storage is encrypted and the keys/passwords are held outside the laptop
