Randomizing my host name

I have taken a look at this following guide here because I am privacy-focused:

Contents/docs/privacy/anonymizing-your-mac-address.md at master · Qubes-Community/Contents · GitHub

…to randomize my host name which is recommended so that other network users cannot easily detect I am using Qubes because of my host name ‘sys-net’.

does that mean as long as I am the only user of the WiFi router I am currently using, it doesn’t matter at all?
are there any other reasons or scenarios why I should do it?

If you are using WIFI, then it randomize it. If you are using ethernet, same as wifi settings. However, if you are using them both just make sure your either wifi, ethernet, or both shall be randomize for your privacy sake.

what do you mean by that? do I need to do something here?

Let me clarify this.

Ethernet:
It’s optional for Random access Mac Address

Wifi:
Required for random mac address for full privacy

Required for random mac address for full privacy

how is the MAC address relevant if I asked about the host name?
I guess randomizing the MAC address is only relevant if you’re not alone in your Wi-Fi anyway, right?

The question is still relevant.
