QubesOS update window shouldn't suggest restarting qubes by default

Today this happened to me: I had updated my QubesOS templates. The update went through without a problem. But after the updates, on the update window, when I press next, the first thing the next button on the same position is Finish but with updated qubes selected for restarting.

The Next button is so unresponsive that I never know if I actually clicked it. So, most of the times, I am compelled to click on that button again. BUT, this time, the button changed its modal to Finish button, and this has caused me to restart my sys-net, sys-firewall, sys-usb and sys-whonix, while I was using them! I was doing some work on a USB storage device that attached to one of my qubes, but due to this annoying UI choice on QubesOS Updater, my work got cut-off because the sys-usb got restarted!

Yes, happened to me too - several times a decade ago. I’ve learned my lesson and now I’m playing around with the checkboxes before pressing the finish button, to restart or pass restarts of qube’s.

Yeah. Got bitten by this bug too, the other day. As @TheGardner writes, I’m very very careful usually, and it is in moments of stress, or haste, when I get fooled by the button-swap. :man_facepalming:

If you go into Qubes OS Update and click the gear icon on the upper right corner, you are able to change the default behavior by unchecking 'Restart all service qubes after update by default and ‘Restart other qubes after update if needed’.

Next time you click into finish, nothing will be restarted automatically and will be at your discretion when to do so.

I think this fixes my problem.
