Hi,
I didn’t do any updates yesterday - at least not that I know of - where I could think that the update could break my setup.
Well. Today I was a little surprised. After I enter the Luks password the error is visible for a short time, then my pc reboots.
I wanted to try if I can use nouveau (even though I am note sure if this is nvidia drivers fault. It worked know since this bug was resolved (PS: Yes, I deleted my old forum account because I thought I wouldn’t need it anymore)), I have removed the kernel parameters that are responsible for using nvidia driver - but I can’t use nouveau anymore because I also have it under /etc/modprobe.d/… blocked. When I do that, I don’t even see the messages from before.
I can’t open a terminal because QubesOs restarts directly.
Try to boot with nomodeset
kernel command line option.
Maybe you can try to use module_load=nouveau
kernel command line option and blacklist proprietary driver, but I don’t know if it’ll override the blackist.
If it won’t work then I guess you need to boot from some Live OS (e.g. from Qubes OS installer), disable the proprietary driver and enable nouveau.
Intersting. I tried the kernel param qubes.skip_autostart and everything worked. I realized that I changed sys-audio to autostart yestarday. After changing it to not-autostarting everything works as intended again.
In the past i always had sys-audio configured to autostart but it never really auto-started because something always went wrong and it shut down (if i manually start sys-audio it works correctly). So i disabled it for some time - until yesterday.
