When I boot up Qubes OS and enter my password, if I don’t type it correctly on the first try, I receive a common error related to regenerating the initram. The logs indicate that there is an exception thrown due to mismatched credentials. What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it?
To clarify, if password typed in correctly from the first time, it will decrypt fine, otherwise error mentioned above, so I basically have to reboot each time I enter a wrong password.
You could, but we would need far more information.
On none of the machines I administer is this an issue - there is always
a chance of retyping the password. Sometimes 2 or 3 times.
Is it dependent on timing? Possible.
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.

I will collect additional information and share the logs. For now, it seems that the timing is not related to the problem. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for a long time, and it continues to occur even after performing clean installations of Qubes OS. The behavior is exactly as I have described.
Thanks - I wonder if it is a hardware issue?
If you hit Esc at password prompt you should drop to console input.
What happens if you type the pw incorrectly there?
