[qubes-users] ports 3389 & 5631; RetroShare

hi all,

I'm trying to get RetroShare running in a new AppVM, and while struggling with the port forwarding, I came across canyouseeme.org, which indicates my Qubes installation is showing Remote Desktop (3389) and PC Anywhere (5631) ports open.

Why does the Qubes firewall enable these ports?

(oh, any tips of getting RetroShare working would be great too

thanks

I tried it. It tells me that it could *not* see my service on <my IP

on either port. So, I have no idea. Sorry. But maybe this

feedback will be helpful to someone who knows about this stuff and can help you.

It is surely nothing about Qubes firewall.

Qubes firewall (by default) is only able to allow outbond traffic.
Because only your netvm is connected to any network and it is not
forwardind any incoming connection towards your firewallvm. (unless
you made some rules about this)

So you shoud check:
- if your netvm get a public IP?
- if this IP is the same as the canyouseeme, org said?

It might also be worth checking your router settings. (After all, that site claims to check your router for open ports.)
