Qubes "Update Tool"

Current Update Tool doesn’t show much. Is it possible to enable some visibility as to what’s going on while it’s updating? I mean how much data has been downloaded or is to be downloaded and ETA etc. Right now all I get is a gear spining till the update isn’t finished.

How much traffic will update use?

Run sudo qubes-dom0-update from the command line. A few more questions: In which qube do I run this command? The warning says “Warning: Updating exclusively with direct commands such as qubes-dom0-update…”. I understand that your suggestion is run the command and terminate its further action (the actual update) before it happens. What is the reason for dom0 taking ages to check for updates? We’re not even talking about downloading them, just checking…

If you’re updating via Tor (sys-whonix), then keep in mind that it can be very slow.
