Qubes stopped responding to the keyboard

I suspended my session and tried to sleep after waking up turning on my screen the login popup appeard, I tried to enter my password without any response rebooted two time also same problem but only hard disk encryption screen accepts my keystrokes

(It is a built-in keyboard)

Could you try to:

  • Edit the boot options, by pressing e to edit when you see the GRUB menu
  • Look at kernel options and remove rd.qubes.hide_all_usb (if it’s there)
  • press ctrl-x to boot

It shouldn’t make a difference - but just to rule out things it could be …

No it is not present there

Explanation: my built-in keyboard was recognized as a keyboard connected through usb port (not sure why, please someone explain), as I changed sys-usb to accept usb keyboards from allow to ask the problem emerged.

Solution: Qubes stuck at logon - #2 by renehoj then after managing to login to qubes os I reverted it back to allow.

But I still have a question is it safe to auto accept usb keyboard and mouse? is there any security implications? can a usb device trick the system as a keyboard or a mouse when this option is on and compromise it?

yes

But why my built-in keyboard is being read as an external one?

Can you run lsusb in sys-usb and share the output? From what you said, your keyboard is certainly connected to the laptop mainboard usb hub.

Sure!
