I’m trying to install Qubes OS 4.3 on a laptop that has been running Qubes OS 4.2 for over a year and am having iso test errors.
I have tried installing the Qubes OS 4.3 ISO onto a 32gb flash drive via Qubes 4.2 > Fedora XFCE terminal dd tool, using Windows with Rufus following the steps from the Qubes official OS installation guide, and even on Fedora Workstation using the Fedora media creator but every time I run the pre-installation test, it fails at some point during the percentages. Below is a picture of the Windows Rufus installation test result. I checked the bash for both the Qubes OS and Fedora downloaded ISO files. Should I continue with the installation despite the error message or try something else?
I tried using a brand new flash drive and the dd installation method on Fedora 42 and sometimes it passes the test on a different laptop but the test always fails on this laptop.
What are the risks or downsides of installing despite the failed check on this machine?
Should I install using the regular option without the test or the latest kernel option?
I reinstalled Qubes OS 4.3 onto the flash drive using dd on Fedora and then tried installing Qubes OS via standard and new kernel options multiple times but after I enter the LUKS password, I get the following black screen with a white dash at the top left. Again, Qubes 4.2 was working just fine on this laptop.
