Qubes is freezing unexpectedly after latest Dom0 updates

After updating Dom0 on my Microsoft Surface laptop, Qubes can freeze any time unexpectedly.

Sometimes Qubes freezes directly after booting and sometimes later during a session. Qubes works normally without this issue when i boot with an older kernel (6.12.11.1.fc37 and below) Booting with any kernel above 6.12.11.1 cause this freezing issue.

I did not posted about it until a find out that i’m not the only one having this issue. Hope there is any solution.

Hi Tommy,
I really do not know, but I see that you did not get any answers.

Some problems have been seen where the “initial” memory allocated to certain VMs was not enough. These problems appeared after recent updates.

Maybe it would help to increase the initial memory for Dom0, and for any system and slow VMs. The value can be changed in Qubes Manager, on the second tab.

Please tell us if you find the solution to the problem - it could help other people.

Thank you for your reply. I will try and i will post about it in case it will help. Indeed it may help others since i already heard this issue from 2 others using different Surface laptops. So it’s not just on my computer.

Update: Yes, this solution fixed the problem. Thanks a lot.

Is there anything related in the journalctl -r in dom0?
