Guys check it out. Just engineered this with Claude. Haven’t tested it yet myself. It would be nice to have some eyes on it before I try it with my live system
Just to be clear and avoid any misunderstandings:
[1] You didn’t write this yourself?
[2] You didn’t test it?
Under circumstances...
If both boxes get ticked, why are you posting such things in a security-focused community? Wouldn’t forums with the motto ‘move fast, break things’ be a much better place for that?
If it’s your code, you’re the one who breaks the system first because it’s your project; this isn’t a community of testers. Regards.
Please re-read and avoid the toxicity. Guess I won’t be asking you two to review code when you can’t even read, who knows maybe you can prove me wrong.
“Engineered this with Claude.” Its great really. Time to move with the times Man. You get what you want without the ego.
‘Engineered with Claude’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘understanding what this does’, including the unintended effects. You registered one day ago and recommended some arbitrary software. Apparently, parts of the code should be installed in dom0. To make matters worse, you didn’t even test it yourself, yet you still went on about the ‘modernity’ of your toolchain. That’s not trustworthy per se. Can you see what I mean?
Have you heard of xz or npm? Do you read the news? Supply chain attacks can be devastating. In this case, ‘get what you want’ is on your side IMHO.
Hi @miroslav_vevoda, welcome here. I would like to remind you of the Code of conduct:
Our Standards
Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include:
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
- Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
- Focusing on what is best for the community
- Showing empathy towards other community members
Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:
- […]
- Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
Some kind of careful attention to details and accuracy is more than welcome in a community focused on a “reasonably secure OS”, do not confuse that with “toxicity”.
An example of toxicity would be to tell someone they are unable to do a basic task (i.e.: reading a small text) just because they don’t comply with what one wants. To be a bit more toxic, one could also challenge the previously dismissed members to prove that they can still do the basic task, so that one can obtain what they want. But that’s now something we want here.
