I don’t use the proton app. I go directly through the network-manager. You can try the @solene solution which should work with the proton app to block non-proton ips.

You can add this in your sys-vpn qube to the file /rw/config/qubes-firewall-user-script, this will block all traffic that doesn’t belong to the VPN.
