Problem with external SSD (connection interruptions)

Problem with external SSD (connection interruptions)
I use an external SSD that I can connect and use normally with a Qube. However, connection interruptions occur repeatedly. The SSD is then briefly disconnected and reappears in “sys-usb” after reconnecting, but with a new name. The first time it connects, it is SDA, the second time SDB, etc.

The problem is that the SSD is disconnected from the previous Qube and every copy process is interrupted. I am unable to copy the Qubes OS backup to the external SSD.
The problem occurs every time, but at different intervals.
Information: I am a beginner with Qubes OS (I have been using it for about 4 weeks) and am currently still finding it very difficult.

It’s probably a hardware issue (cable connection/disk overheating/etc).
You can try to use your disk on another system (not Qubes OS) to determine if it’s a hardware issue or a software issue in Qubes OS.

The SSD works perfectly and without any problems on another computer. I have changed the cables. The problem only occurs with Qubes OS.

Does it disconnects only when you copy something on the disk?
Or sometimes it disconnects at idle?
You can try to increase the memory and VCPUs in the sys-usb settings.

I have increased the memory in sys-usb a few minutes ago and will try again.

Did you try to use it on the same computer but in a different OS?
It could be a problem with your USB port.

Yes it’s on every USB port at the same computer.

The problem still occures.
But I received an error message:

error splicing file: input/output error

Check the sys-usb log using sudo journalctl -b command and search for the messages related to the device disconnect/reconnect, maybe there will be some useful info.
