I find it annoying that if I press the Q button, then let go of the mouse, that the button does not disappear.
This is especially annoying when I assign my Windows Key to the Q. I want to be able to just hold down the Windows Key, find what I want in Q, and then unhold the Q key and have the menu disappear again automatically.
Is there some parameter I can change or command I can type to make the panel respond differently?
then I press it and it opens Q and I can’t get the Q to easily go away just by unholding it or pressing Q again
this is in contrast to Gnome. In Gnome, I hold down the stupid Windows key and I can select stuff, I let go and it goes away
This also happens with all menus in the xfce bar at the top and it’s annoying and counter-intuitive: clicking once leaves all the menus open that are in that xfce bar, like on the network icon, if I click it, the menus are exposed, they don’t go away once I move my mouse to something else.
It’s annoying.
But just for this particular usecase, is there a way to assign “gdbus call --session --dest org.qubesos.appmenu --object-path “/org/qubesos/appmenu” --method org.freedesktop.Application.Activate “{}”” to windows key but modify it so it only shows the Q stuff when held down?
also, I did follow that link and yes, the cartoon does describe me
