OpenBSD 7.9

OpenBSD 7.9 was released on May 19.

I’ve built a qubes template for OpenBSD 7.9, available from 3isec

On first boot, you will be prompted to fix up the filesystem. Hit enter
for a shell, and then newfs sd1c to create the /home directory on
private storage.

If you create a qube using the template do the same thing on first boot.

Note the IP address and the gateway address from the qube settings,
and create two files in /home/config: mygate containing the IP address
of the configured netvm, and myip containing the IP address of the qube.
Both should have the relevant IP address on a single line. These settings
will persist across reboots of the qube.

The template ship with root account with password qubes - you will
want to change this. You may want to add a user account.

What is the advantage of this template over installing OpenBSD from the ISO?
(From the ISO I can install just Base without any bloat.)

You could say the same of any template.
There is already present all firmware (bloat to you, necessary to
others), and you do not need to install from iso.

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.

Thanks, (that was the answer I was looking for, I hope one day these OS’s get Qubes-agent integrations)
