On my T480, I had to manually install the Linux firmware package to get Wi-Fi working.

Do you have a step-by-step for this procedure? On my Thinkpad X1 Gen 9, I need the iwlwifi firmware both the Fedora and Debian templates, it seems. No port for a cable connection, so wifi is my only opportunity for connectivity.

Edit: Solved
For those with a similar issue, this worked:

git clone  https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git
cd linux-firmware
copy all the ucode files into /lib/firmware of the fedora-38-xfce template
