I just installed Qubes OS on my laptop. Whenever I plug in my ethernet cable using an ethernet to USB adapter I get “Realtik USB connected” and nothing else. There’s no Internet connection.
Hi Mhb - and welcome to the forum! 
When you plugged the USB-Ethernet dongle in, did you assign it to sys-net?
Out of the box, Qubes OS doesn’t know which Qube you wan’t to connect a USB-device to, so until you assign it to eg. sys-net, it will just sit there and to nothing.
