Since some time I have no sound in any AppVM anymore in qubes 4.2.2.
The AppVMs are based either on fedora-xfce-40, fedora-40 or debian-12.
I’m not using an audio-qube. When I open pulse-audio-control from AppMenue->System Settings I see that the mic is working.
Piprewire is installed in dom0 and in the templates.
Hardware is a X1 Gen 10.
Already tried:
qubes-dom0-update --switch-audio-server-to=pipewire
Do you have any tips how I can tackle down the problem?
Check which device is used as fallback (default) device in the PulseAudio Volume Control “Output Devices” and “Input Devices” tab. Maybe it’s set to HDMI or some other device instead of your speaker/internal mic.
Also check the Playback/Recording tabs to check which device is currently used by your qubes.
Thank @apparatus, you pointed me in the right direction. I‘ve noticed that as the profile „pro Audio“ was selected instead of „Play HiFi quality music“. Not sure about the root cause. Now my problem is solved.
