I was in the process of setting everything up and whilst attempting to increase the font size on the panel, I mistakenly deleted the panel and lost my whole user interface. I have searched through the forum for about two days and whilst a few message address this isssue and povide steps on how to rebuild it when I try to do this the is no status tray plug available to add in panel > preferences. As suggested in one post I have restarted sys-net and sys-whonix but it is still missing. In addition I haven’t been able to find where/how you can re add back the taskbar.
I just want to get back to the user interface that was there as default upon installing the OS. I am using release 4.1.
Hi Solene,
I have tried really hard to work out how to do what you suggested but after a day of frustration I have resorted to having to come back to you to ask.
Firstly if I log off it automatically sends me straight back to the log in screen so I am not sure how I get access to dom(0) when I am logged off. I tried to research if there was a command I could use that would do what you suggest but not send me out and straight back to the log in screen but I couldnt find an answer to that.
Secondly, once I achieve the above, I assume there is terminal command that I need to use to empty the home directory. Tried to research that as well but no luck. Please treat me as if I don’t know how to do anything but am eager to learn!
I did see that I could delete my only saved session when I was logged on but as that wasn’t what you suggested I didn’t think it would be a good idea.
Steep learning curve so thanks for your help and patience.
