New app menu not working

I’ve installed the new app menu in 4.1 and I’ve added a new launcher to the panel as described here:

When I click the launcher nothing happens however. If I run qubes-app-menu
a giant oversized (but functional) app menu does appear.

As written there:

It’s a fast and efficient method, however, it will use the CLI params as set by either autostart menu position or via executing qubes-app-menu with desired params in CLI.

It’s still in work as far as I know, so upon each Qubes start, the command has to be executed in CLI first, and then it can be used as usual.
