yeah i already fixed it i had to turn on local network sharing
Many thanks for this great guide. As a beginner, I have successfully got it working. However, there’s a couple of things unclear to me.
In Qube Creation:
What are you referring to for the 800Mb? I also see no option anywhere in the qube settings to disable ballooning.
In Fix DNS:
I eventaully worked out to install the inotify tools with sudo dnf install inotify-tools. Would it be possible to add that to your guide to help new folk?
In the Killswitch configuration:
I’m unsure how qvm-firewall should be used in this context, so I took the less secure option.
Thank you again for all the incredible support I see you provide for the community.
I’m sorry guys, but I need help with this guide, as it is not working for me. I have spent yet another whole day trying to install the GUI with no success (other than for the qube it is installed in). I’ve been at this for months actually, as time allows, but 10 14 hour working days just doesn’t allow for a lot of study, and the online time you do have needs to be actually working time. This isn’t working for me.
I mean, if i ever do get Mullvad working, it still doesn’t have the static ip I need, so Ill have to try to get my other VPN installed,… without a guide. Frankly, this has just taken me out of qubes…, I’m done…
I don’t have days upon days to sift thru numerous guides, most of which are outdated, just to install something that should be super simple, and have it not work. I mean face iit,… If it was going to be easy to install a VPN here, it would have been included in the OS by default that way, right?
I appreciate everyones time and effort on guides, and helping those who have enough knowledge to know what to do when something is left out or incorrect, or even basic commands.
Qubes has been a constant source of aggravation and frustration since I started trying to use it. It’s not the way it’s laid out. It’s just things that are should be super simple are extremely complicated and confusing.
Thx, but this so called high IQ, glutton for punishment genious just isn’t smart enough to figure this OS out, and I’m not wasting time trying to get it to work any longer.
Keep up the fight.
I’m out.
I assume she’s referring to disabling memory balancing (advanced tab of the qube’s settings manager). So set Max memory to 800 MiB and unclick “Include in memory balancing”
Thanks, set it up using the Fedora 43 template. Initially faced an issue in app VMs, where DNS was not working, but unchecking the “Launch app on start-up” box in Mullvad settings fixed it.
