Mullvad on Qubes OS: WireGuard config vs Mullvad app?

Hi,
I’m new to Qubes OS and Mullvad.

Is it better to:
1.use a WireGuard-only setup (manual config), or
2. run the official Mullvad CLI/GUI app?

My main concerns are security and leak protection. I’d also really like to use DAITA, which doesn’t seem to be available with manual WireGuard configs.

What do you recommend and why?

If you want advanced features or easily switch from a server to another, use the app.
