My laptop is a Asus GL552VW.
I keep getting this error:
Qube Status: sys-firewall
Qube sys-firewall has failed to start: internal error: libxenlight failed to create new domain ‘sys-firewall’
It’s happening to every Qube, so replace ‘sys-firewall’ to whatever the Qube’s name is.
I had a similar issue happen in June 2024. However, that happened when I first installed Qubes OS onto the laptop, I’ve since had Qubes OS installed for about 6+ months. So I don’t believe it’s an installation issue.
I’ve also previously reported being able to boot up the vault Qube. I’m not able to do that here. Previously, it was mainly connected to the sys-net Qube, where here, it appears to be everything.
These were logs I was asked of previously. They’re recent, but they’re the same commands I was asked to run to troubleshoot last time I had this error.
sudo tail -f -n0 /var/log/libvirt/libxl/libxl-driver.log
Nothing appears
To give some additional context, as it might help a bit, I’m not sure: I hadn’t used my laptop for a little while. I thought I would boot it up and make sure to update it, even if I wasn’t actively using it. At first I struggled to update it, but eventually I was able to update Dom0 and the Templates. It was AFTER updating Dom0 that everything broke.
I also had to ‘Switch’ all of the Qubes/systems that were using the Fedora 39 Template. I changed them all to the Fedora 41 ones using the user interface ‘Qubes Template Switcher’. After switching, I had deleted the older Templates, because I no longer had a need for them. I’m not sure if this somehow made things worse or not.
I would prefer not to reinstall the whole OS if I don’t have to. The way I fixed it previously was just reinstalling it. I was even confused then why that worked.
