Installed Qubes 4.1.2 on a new laptop, got most of what i wanted to work, but it locks up every time when i try to suspend it, or when i try to restart it. Shutdown/bootup work fine. It even locks up at the restart command from the rescue shell of the install media. It just sits at the last message of reboot: Restarting system
. On suspend (or lid close) screen goes dark but then it just doesn’t wake up, have to hold power button for hard shutdown. Not sure where to even start looking? Everything worked fine in Ubuntu.
You could try to install kernel-latest (search this forum for details).
So this what i got so far:
Qubes 4.1.2 with kernel 6.1.43 - reboot and suspend (lid close) lock up the laptop
Qubes 4.1.2 with kernel-latest 6.4.8 - reboot and suspend (lid close) lock up the laptop
Qubes 4.2.0-rc4 with kernel 6.1.56 - locks up after install finishes and i need to reboot to continue, suspend/lid close work, reboot locks up the laptop
Ubuntu 22.04 with kernel 6.2.0 - everything (suspend and restart) works as it should
Fedora 37 with kernel 6.0.7 - everything (suspend and restart) works as it should
So if Fedora 37 with old kernel 6.0.7 on bare metal can reboot/suspend, kernel doesn’t seem to be an issue here. So things are unique to Qubes OS. Any other suggestions/ideas to look into?
