Hello, I am looking to install Qubes on my old Microsoft Surface (surface laptop 3). I am installing from a USB. I start the installation just fine, it opens the window to select the language, but my mouse/keyboard no longer function to select an option. If I unplug (only one USB port) the USB and plug in a wired mouse, it works fine.
How do I get the surface keyboard and mouse to work during installation?

I know it is not ideal, but I just want to play around and explore Qubes.
If you want to debug / develop for a Microsoft Surface 3, that’s a worthy cause. If you want to play around and explore Qubes, get a computer that is known to be good for that (like maybe a ThinkPad).
These two things are two different activities. Pick one.
You might try to connect pendrive, mouse and keyboard by usb hub if like to experiment more.
