Is this Laptop good and supportet?

I want to buy a new laptop and would like to know whether this laptop supports Qubes OS before I buy it. Can anyone with experience tell me whether this is possible?

€600 is a tight budget. What will you be using that machine for?

The link suggests you are looking at a

HP 255 G10

… and looking at the HCL list, I don’t see any reports about that model/generation. :-/

it’s not so tight, i use hp zbook G4 i7 7th gen with 32Go of ram (it’s in HCL) and i buy it less 700eur 2 years ago.
And i use a thinkpad T470 with 16Go of ram to test Qubes-os 4.3 and it’s fine :slight_smile: a little lower but it’s a i5 6th gen :slight_smile:
My zbook i7 with 4.2.4 is perfect! :smiley:

I’m just sharing my experience and telling future users of Qubes-os that it’s not essential to have computers that cost super expensive to be able to use it. That’s it :slight_smile:

I dont need it for much VMs, 16GB Ram and ryzon 5/7 or i7 is fine for me.
Mostly i will just use it for anonymity.
If someone of you guys can share a vaild link with this specs + compatibility would be perfect.

I can’t advise you on this or that computer or assure you that Qubes will be compatible with it, look carefully at the HCL list which will give you a good lead… :slight_smile:

I recommend a used Thinkpad T480, T580 or T480s with 8th gen quad core CPU for first time qubes laptop. The compatibility is good, the laptop is cheap and easily upgradeable (memory up to 64gb unless you get the S, various external battery options, can be ME cleaned)
