I have read that older versions of QubesOS if I remember correctly 3.2 used to have seamless mode working for apps running in windows 7, however I saw that this was discontinued (or even removed??) in QubesOS 4.0 or somewhere around that version.
My question is, if it is possible to run Windows Apps in seamless mode in any way in the latest version of QubesOS?
For me this would be a big + and ease my life a lot, though I didnt try if it is working yet in the latest version. Does anyone in the community use it / managed to get it working? What to expect? What are the technical limitations and why does / did it only work for win7?
It’s possible as I myself have this functionality for Windows 7 qubes. However, for this, one should assess their threat model, considering that the “old Qubes Windows Tools” are required for it and considering QSB-091.
What are the technical limitations and why does / did it only work for win7?
Different WDDM versions.

Thank you for the information!
Do you know about any updates on QSB-091? Still no fix up to this day?
The new Qubes Windows Tools are being worked on - see the status here.
Also, check out the development status update presented as part of Qubes Summit 2024 here (page no. 10).

I really appreciate the helpful links, I see there’s a lot been going on and the new QWT is just being finalized. Do you have any idea when a beta / test release might happen?
No idea, as I’m not involved in the development at all. I guess asking on the qubes-public Matrix channel is the best bet.
Being silent on any issue of any public segment by default for a consequence gets…?
