Is a proxy vm really neccesary for setting up a vpn?

The two main reasons I can think of for having a VPN proxy are:

  1. If your standalone qube would be compromised in any way, it wouldn’t be able to “break out of the VPN tunnel” as the VPN client is not running in it. All network connectivity your qube gets will already be inside the VPN tunnel.

  2. You can use more than one qube with the same VPN connection
