That’s strange.
You can try to remove PCI devices from sys-net Devices tab in it’s Qube Settings and try to run gnome terminal again.
Maybe it’s a problem with your network controller driver in sys-net that’s causing some issues.
If it’s not the problem with controller then something in dom0 is broken.
Yeah, I’m on qubes 4.1 alpha. For sure something is wrong in dom0.
I planned to do this for a while now… Guess I have to do it now.
Update: I did a clean reinstall with qubes 4.1.1 and have had no issues since then.
Just an educated (wanne-be educated) guess… if your network is working with vpn-gateway but not without vpn-gateway… could there be iptables rules implemented which explicitly drop the network-traffic if VPN disconnects? I believe there is a tweak for that in the sys-VPN guide.
