How do you compartmentalize always-offline data?

How do you compartmentalize always-offline data like passwords, notes, books, etc.? Or do you compartmentalize them in the first place?

I used to believe & still believe that it’s useless to do that. That’s why I’m asking that question; to start doing it if it has benefits.

I say: Since they are always-offline (i.e. will never be in a place that is networked), then the maximum that can happen to them is getting them deleted, and getting them deleted is not a problem if one does regular backups (I do).

Moreover, I say that it’s useless to use minimal templates for such AppVM that has all of those always-offline data, for the same reason: the maximum that can happen to them is not a problem.

I really want to know if I’m wrong, so please share (if you feel comfortable, of course) how do you setup your always-offline stuff? Do you compartmentalize them? If yes, why?

Thanks in advance.

Valid point. Depends on if you copy files from/to the VM I suppose. If you never do that I assume its ok to just have an “offline things” VM with everything combined.

…second that!

What policies would you have to adjust other than copy in order to make sure you cant break this on accident?
